What exactly is graphic recording?

Graphic recording (also known as visual recording or scribing) documents what is said and spoken at meetings, seminars, and conferences, translating it into appropriate visual worlds and metaphors. The documentation is created live on-site on posters, flip charts, display boards, or digitally on an iPad. The graphic recorder listens, filters what is said, and captures the key ideas graphically. Unlike minutes or photo documentation, these drawings allow for the depiction of atmospheres and emotions, while simultaneously making connections and dynamics easily grasped and recognizable. Thus, at the end of a workshop or conference, there is one large image—or many small ones—that reflects the essence of the event.

Where can I use graphic recording?

Anywhere between two and 2000 people come together to exchange knowledge, opinions, or ideas. This includes conferences, seminars, workshops, meetings, conventions, trade fairs, and brainstorming sessions.

What are the benefits of graphic recording?

– Creating a shared understanding

– Participation in the creative process

– Interdisciplinary and cross-cultural visual language

– Enjoyment of the image's creation

What formats are available?

Graphic recording offers countless possibilities in terms of format and material, depending on the type of event and the project: – large-scale on long rolls of paper or sturdy cardboard honeycomb panels – smaller individual formats in pinboard or flipchart size – small individual sheets, for example A4 – these can also be used effectively to develop a story – and of course, digitally, drawn on an iPad

What happens to the drawings after the event?

As the client, you retain ownership of the original drawings. In addition, I offer a digitization service, allowing you to share the results with participants in high-resolution, retouched quality. These can serve as keepsakes, working materials, in print or digital format, and for use in flyers and brochures.

Many clients utilize the results for temporary or permanent exhibitions or installations. Please feel free to contact me. My Master's degree in Art in Context, specializing in Museum and Exhibition Studies, from the Berlin University of the Arts, also makes me a highly competent partner in this field.

How much will all this cost me?

Unfortunately, this question cannot be answered generally, as the price depends heavily on the specific circumstances of the event. I calculate each offer individually. Please feel free to contact me – I would be happy to advise you on implementation options and the associated costs.
